A Growing Tradition

Since we got married we have always made some sort of gingerbread house around Christmas. It has sort of become a tradition--one we plan to keep. This year we decided to do something a little different and create a "sugar-cube castle" instead of using gingerbread. We had a blast working on this together!

Just getting started...

I made a Christmas tree out of an ice cream cone.

Putting on the finishing touches.

This picture is a bit blurry, but it is a close up of the sled I made for the outside.

The side turret, with the Hershey bar windows. :)

And the final product...(we used 713 sugar cubes).

Very ingenious (even if it does look like a diabetic coma looking for a place to happen) Of course, now you are on track to compete with yourselves with a "bigger and better" each year! It looks great.

Love you guys!
