Just Wondering...

Who are you?

After having a blog for 2 1/2 years, I'm sort of curious WHO exactly reads our blog. I know who some of you are, but after having people come up to me at church or elsewhere and say, "Hey, I read your blog", it makes me wonder who else reads that I don't know about.

Not knowing if asking who your readers are was proper blog etiquette and not wanting to offend anyone, I asked the opinion of a more seasoned blogger, someone whose blog I greatly enjoy and she told me it was perfectly fine to ask.

So, here's what I'd like you to do. If you are reading this post (which means you are one of my readers) can you just leave a comment (even if you've never commented before or never plan to again) to let me know that you were here? Also, if you want to be even more open and honest would you let me know how you found our blog, how long you've been reading and how often you read?

Even those of you that know that I know that you read, I'd still love to hear from you too. :)

Thanks so much!!

PapaDog checks the blog almost every day and values it highly ! It's an awesome way to get glimpses into the lives of three who are very dear to me. Jana, you do a marvelous job on the blog and I appreciate it, ( and YOU ), BUNCHES !! Love you lots, Dad

I agree with everything your other Dad (PapaDog) said. I read your blog every time you post, because I get to see places you've been, and things you've done, even if I couldn't be there! You do a great job of keeping up with the blog. I know that if you take a trip or do something special or fun, I will get the story and see the pictures. I also get to see MK grow and change between visits. Keep it up!

I check it everyday and Alley reads it, too! I love being able to see all your pics!

I came upon this blog when Jana Burton married Kane Barker and in the event of making a life and family together, let me know that they would be creating a blog. It was the first I had ever read and I check it very often, especially when the man of the house comes home and says, "You need to check the blog."

I'm a long time reader, but not a commenter. That may be because I get to share my thoughts face to face.

Hey Jana, This is your mother checking in! I read it when I see a new post, and I love to hear and see about your life any chance I can. I basically agree word for word with what Dad already said! For a long time my computer would not let me comment but it seems to be letting me now! Keep it up! I LOVE IT!

I have been reading this blog since it's inception. :-) I check it everyday, at the least! haha
Jana, you are a very inspiring person and I love the way you capture your life in words and pictures. Keep it coming!

Love to all,

I (Kathryn J.) check it at night when I have "downtime." Alot of my friends have blogs, but none update theirs as religiously as you update yours, which is why I continue to read it :-) I probably began to check your blog after our bible study stopped as a way of keeping up with what is going on in the Barker family! I especially love your posts about cleaning and organizing. They make me smile b/c they are so "Jana!"

Jana, I usually check your blog 1-2x per week; your one of the few who actually updates routinely and with interesting data. It’s nice to hear (and see) all about you, Kane, and MK and it also keeps it from feeling like I’ve missed out on 2 years of your life at a time.

Jana:
I started looking at your blog when
my dear friend, your mother in law told me about it. We used to be next door neighbors and Kane and my son Doug were the best of buddies. Looking at Mara Kate is like looking at Elizabeth all over again. Anyway, it is wonderful to see what your family is doing and I have be honest, I want the same kind of godly marriage and family for my own two children some day. Until then, I just have to drool over Mara Kate! Hope this isn't blog stalking! Sue Hooker

G'day from the land down under!

I have about 4 blogs I check daily - and this happens to be one of them. One of the more reguarly updated ones too.

Who am I? I'm just a random person Kane met on the net a while back when looking up an old computer game - and we read each other's blogs.

Hmmm,

This is a great idea Jana! You know I read!:) I should try this sometime too because I always wonder the same thing...I've had my blog for 3 years now and will have people come up to me and say their reading it but it's difficult to gage who is/isn't when only a very small handful comment!
Anyways, I remember when you began your blog and I've enjoyed following it since the beginning!

I'm from Ottawa Canada and I've been reading for a year or so, I'd guess. I found your blog thru Susanna's and I found her blog thru some of my best friends who are also her cousins. I'm from Ottawa, Ontario and am expecting my first little one in a few weeks, so I really enjoyed reading over your archives as you chronicled your experience of pregnancy and first time mommy.
Thanks!
Vanessa

I check your blog several times a week and love it!! You inspired me to start my own blog - remember!?
I also occasionally visit your sister's blog via yours.
Keep up the awesome "blogging!"

I make the occasional stop through your blog to see if there are any opportunities to leave snide remarks directed at Kane, and to see how the Barkers are doing... but mostly just to leave snide remarks at Kane. =)

I obviously read! It has been fun to get to know Jana better and find that we share a lot of interests! And of course seeing cute pictures of cute little Mara Kate is always a bonus. :-)

I have kind of been thinking that I should start a public blog for Josh and me as a couple, but the whole privacy versus anonymity thing, control over who sees the blog, that kind of thing concerns me. I guess I could make it so people would have to log in to see it but that would probably be a pain! But I am considering it.

I stop in now and then. :) One of my brothers completed part of his schooling at GA Tech, and it's an encouragement to read about other young families far from the rest of their family--I am not alone! And I guess we're bound to run into each other at CSPC some trip home one of these times.

Blessings,
Becca

Well of course I read it! Even though I talk to you about every other day at least, I still have to read about everything else you've been doing and see the pics! This was a great idea! I need to do something like this b/c I am always wondering who reads ours!

love,
K

Hey guys! You've been in my blog reader at least since Mara Kate was born. And even though I haven't seen you guys in a long time I feel like I've watched you two really come together and make a family. I guess that's pretty selfish of me, considering you never hear from me. I do really hope to see you guys this summer. I'll be in Atlanta for a few days in June. Hopefully we can catch up then... With love, Drew

read it every time it is updated as the Baker family is my Atlanta family afterall. Since I don't get to see you guys much in person these days, I get to "see" you here :-)

yah, I read, as often as I open my web browser and hit "open all" to my list of blogs. Sometimes daily, sometimes weekly, as life allows--and probably since you started it. RC with Anji

HI Jana,

I had started replying to your blog and then had to go teach. So that said, I check your blog when time allows; definitely every week though when I have time at work or at home and want to smile and be inspired. Since being in Small Group with you guys, I've enjoyed getting to know you more and staying in touch through yu blog. Plus, you encouraged me to start one. Thanks! Keep up the great work!

Am I too late to comment??? I read your blog ALL THE TIME (except after I have a baby and am taking three weeks off from the internet :-))! I have so enjoyed keeping up with your guys this way. You do such a good job with your blog! Perhaps I could hire you to keep up with mine??? :-) Oh, and I found your blog because Sonja said..."I saw on Kane and Jana's blog" and I thought, "hmmmm" so I googled you!
