On the Road Again

This past week Mara Kate, Kane and I were traveling once again. It seems when you don’t live in the same town as the rest of your family, you seem to be on the road quite often. Mara Kate and I went to Knoxville to stay with my in-laws for a few days and Kane went to Nashville to spend the weekend with some college buddies who were all getting together to hang out and catch up.

One of my purposes for making the trip to K-town was to reorganize and go through all of the things we have in storage in Kane's parents basement. I reduced it by about 1/3 and have a load waiting to go to Goodwill and everything left is in perfect order. I finally got bins set up with all the different sizes of baby clothes so now I know where everything is. That is a good feeling. Another thing that made my time away fun was getting to spend some time with my sister Heidi and my nephew (her son Grant). Heidi came down on Thursday afternoon and spent the night with me at my in-laws. They were nice enough to invite her to come and even nicer to babysit both Mara Kate and Grant for several hours so we could have some sister shopping time and even go out to lunch together. It was a nice treat and I really enjoyed my time with her. We also spent time with other family members too. Mara Kate got to see Opa, Daddo, Aunt Pat, Aunt Carol, Park, Hanlon and Elliott. She also was so good to let Papa Dog and Tuie put her to bed a couple of the nights we were there and they really loved singing to her right before bed time. She was sooo good while we were there and was such a people person and just babbled and sang while she played with toys and walked all around the house. I sadly didn't take many pictures (I need to do better at that), but here are a few I took right before heading back home yesterday afternoon.
