Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Today is Valentine's Day and I am glad to say that Mara Kate is acting more like herself. She has been walking around this morning, talking and just being more active...even smiling, which she hadn't done since before Sunday.

Last night I went out to the movies with my friend Katie. Our sweet husbands gave us a night out together while they stayed home and watched our babies. We went to see 'Because I Said So...", which was a great choice for us since it is a movie about a mom and her 3 daughters. Since we are both daughters, both mothers and both have daughters of our own, it was fun to watch together.

Tonight we are not going out on a Valentine's date---that will be this weekend when we have arranged for a babysitter, so tonight I am cooking a romantic little dinner at home. We are having breaded Chicken Parmesan (VERY easy if anyone wants the recipe), a side of pasta and a side salad. I also made this CAKE you see above as a surprise for Kane (which won't be much of a surprise if he checks the blog today) :) Oh well. It is a WHITE cake with WHITE icing...one of his favorites. (Kane, If you are reading this, then you get your surprise early and can just look forward to a yummy dessert tonight!---I love ya!)

The day has already been special as I left a card for Kane in the cabinet in the kitchen which he found this morning while fixing breakfast. I also left one to him from Mara Kate in the pantry in front of the oatmeal container, which he found when he fixed Mara Kate's breakfast. He left me a box of chocolate covered cherries on top of the coffee pot, which was sweet, as well as a card for "His Little Valentine" so we opened that and I have been letting Mara Kate play with it this morning. How sweet to have a husband who is so in love with his daughter as well as his wife!

I hope everyone has a very Happy Valentine's Day!!
