Now that the holidays are over and our days seem to be slowing down a bit, I must say it can seem like a bit of a let down after being with so much family and hustling and bustling around. I SO enjoyed our time traveling and getting to spend much time with family and I am also enjoying our down time now that we are home and finally well again...but, it's just a change from the busy holiday season and it takes some time to adjust back to the normal pace of life.
The first week we were home after New Year's we were all 3 sick and once we all got well then Kane's mom arrived for a long weekend visit. We had a great time with her and it was nice to have a chance to run errands while she stayed home with Mara Kate. Kane and I also squeezed in a movie and dinner out during her visit. Kane's dad arrived on Sunday afternoon and stayed one night with us so he was able to spend time with his granddaughter too. They both headed home on Monday evening, but not after a trip to IKEA. It was a great weekend--so thank you Tuie and Papa Dog for all your help while you were here. (Unfortunately I didn't take a single picture while they were here---shame on me! So, I have none to share of our time together).
Another small "highlight" is that Mara Kate has graduated into a bigger car seat---I guess that means she is officially NOT an infant anymore as she is no longer using her infant car seat.
Sometimes when I look at her and all she is doing and saying it really amazes me just how much she has grown. I am thankful for her health and growth----but, I still see her as my little newborn sometimes. It happens so gradually on one hand that you don't seem to notice, but then when you stop and think back it really is quite an amazing thing. WOW!
And--since I can't seem to post without adding pictures, here are a few from Mara Kate's bath time last night. :-) Enjoy!
OK--to just show you what I mean about how fast babies change and grow.
