A Visit and a Trip

Last Friday we were so excited about our visit with my mom, Heidi and Grant. They arrived a little before lunch and we spent the weekend together. We made the usual trip to IKEA ( of course) and got to go to a great kid's clothing consignment sale (and stocked up on all our needs for Grant and Mara Kate for the fall and winter). It was just a great weekend of visiting and spending time with some of my family. My mom headed home Monday morning and Heidi and Grant got to stay the rest of the week. We went to the Farmer's Market one day. We took the babies to the park to explore and to swing (which they loved). We went to Chilis for supper one night---one of our favorite places! It was a busy but fun-filled week. On Thursday Heidi and I packed and loaded the car and we picked Kane up from school Thursday afternoon and headed back up to Virginia to return Heidi and Grant to their home and husband/daddy who was greatly missing them. Then we spent the weekend at my mom and dad's house. It was so nice to see them and to have some time in my old stomping grounds. We got to eat at La Caretta, have bunches of my mom's wonderful cooking, and a yummy Pal's Tea. Kane also got to see his friend Looney and got to eat some tasty chinese food. We also made a trip out to one of our very favorite and special places---the dam. It is where we had our first date as well as where we got engaged. It was our first time to take Mara Kate to our "spot"---and of course she slept the entire time in her carseat and totally missed out on the stories we wanted to tell her as well as the gorgeous view from there.
Before heading home we stopped in to visit one of my good friends and see her new baby boy! It was great to catch up with them, although we didn't have much extra time.
It was a fun trip---and now I am playing catch up around here.

I am really getting excited about the Fall coming and bringing more crisp air and beautiful colors with it---I can't believe it is already October--this year has FLOWN by!

Below are some pictures of the visit here in Atlanta as well as from our time in Bristol.

Hey guys! How are things!? How's school/Atlanta? Unbeknownst to you, I check up on your blog pretty much weekly. I feel like I've watched Mara Kate grow up on here! (Not that 10 months is very "grown up" - but you know what I mean.) She's absolutely adorable, by the way! I miss seeing you guys, we'll have to try to get together next time I'm in Atlanta! I just realised today that your church is right beside my friend Justin's appartment! I've driven by your church several times but never put the two together. Hope you guys have a good week! Miss you and love you! --Drew

We really enjoyed your visit here. As always, it was too short, but it was great to see you again and catch up on Mara Kate's latest new skills. Love you!
