Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mother's birthday. She is in Bristol and I am in Atlanta, so I didn't get to spend her birthday with her. Thankfully my younger sister is there and she was able to go to dinner with her and my dad.

Mom, Even though I wasn't there, I have been thinking about you a lot today and I just wanted to post about a few things that make you so special to me.

The whole family

My mom loves the Lord and has always put her relationship with God first---thank you mom for showing your children how important that is, by living it out in front of us.

(maybe not the best picture, but one of my favorite memories)

Mom & Mara Kate

She has a passion for God's Word.

She is a wonderful wife to my dad, faithful and loyal (again, another GREAT example).

She is a great cook and hostess---you taught me how to "do it right" and so many of my GOOD and TASTY recipes are "Mom's".

Mom, Dad and Mara Kate

She has taught me much about hospitality and opening my home to others...and how to make them comfortable while they are here.

She loves to travel--- so I have been to and seen many neat places because of this.

She has always been supportive of me in all stages of life (as a tom-boy as a kid you let me climb trees and play with transformers and such and now that I am a woman, wife and mother you are a great source of help and advice in these areas as well).

(so spoecial to have my mom there with me during this event)

She loves her daughters and has ALWAYS been ready and willing to listen when we needed to talk (even if it was into the wee hours of the morning when we were teens).

She loves her son-in-laws like they are her own sons.

She LOVES her grandchildren and shows them her love in so many ways.

There is so much more I could say---but, I just wanted to put into writing some of what I was thinking about today.

Mom, Dad and all 5 grandbabies!

Mom, your love of God and comittment to His Word shines through every area of your life, as well as your love for family. These are 2 qualities I truly want to "glean" from you now that I am a wife and mom myself!

I hope you had a wonderful day and I am really looking forward to your visit here soon. I love you---thank you for being such a wonderful mom and an awesome Mimi too! :)

Thanks so much, Jana! What a wonderful collection of pictures of me and my wonderful family. Thank you for helping to make my birthday very special. God has been so good to me, and to my family. There is nothing more I could ask for than what I have. I have all that really matters. How much richer could you be than that!
I love you and we will see you very soon! Yay!
