Date Night

Tonight is date night for me and my sweet husband. We got to talking last week and it really hit us how much is going to be changing in our lives very soon. Although, we are very excited to welcome Baby Barker into our family, we wanted to take advantage of the last little bit of time we have together just the two of us---for it will truly NEVER be the same.

So, tonight we are going out! We are even planning to dress up just a bit to make it a little more fun! We are going to eat at a Mexican restaurant that was reccomended to us by Kane's advisor---so we are hoping it is good as we both love yummy Mexican cuisine!

We were also planning on going out to a movie afterward, but unfortunately there really isn't anything that great playing right now---we we'll just come home, cuddle up close and watch a movie we rented from Blockbuster---that will be just as fun anyway!

It's been awhile since we have had a night out--- and I am really looking forward to spending this time with my sweetie!

I was so thrilled and excited to see you and Kane and your love for each other. I can't believe that baby is coming in three weeks. And I am just dying to hold HIM at Christmas time. I am not picky; I will just take it- baby Barker.

I am glad you guys set aside some time for yourselves. There's a season in life for everything...and even though you will absolutely love and enjoy life with your baby, it's great to take advantage of these last few days alone. Who knows?.... It could be tomorrow!

Well, you are absolutely right about saying it will truly NEVER be the same. Even when your children are all grown and married, when you get some time together, you talk about your children and grandchildren. But that's even better!!

dear jana,

today i went to my friend's house out in Gate City, VA, and i petted the neighbor's donkey. and i thought about mary and baby Jesus and the donkeys in the Bible.... can you imagine being pregnant, almost ready to deliver, and riding a donkey for miles!? i can't.

just thought i'd share! :)

You're right, date night is very important and I think it is so good when couples try to fit that in once and a while even after marriage! When the baby arrives and it comes to the point where you feel alright leaving him/her for a few hours, you'll have friends more than willing to take care of him/her so you and Kane can get some down time!(-;
