So...since it's been a couple weeks since I have posted anything, I thought I better write an update for my many faithful readers. :)
~Yesterday I was running errands with Mara Kate and found a set of flannel sheets on sale at TJ Maxx. Kane and I have been talking the past few nights about how COLD our sheets are when we climb in bed at night and how NICE it would be to climb between some comfy cozy flannel sheets this winter. We hadn't bought ANY sheets for our bed since we got married, since the 2 sets we already have were wedding gifts, so we decided that if I could find some for a reasonable price---that it would be ok to treat ourselves to this simple cold weather winter comfort. I saw several different kinds and many of them are colorful, christmasy ones---but, the ones I found yesterday were exactly what I wanted---solid, khaki...something that we could use longer than just the month of December while our home is decorated for the holidays. So, these will be appropriate for each and every cold night we have here in the blustery city of Altanta. (Actually, it has turned rather chilly here lately and actually looks like Fall finally.) So, I'm excited to put the sheets on our bed and experience great warmth and comfort as we drift off to slumber tonight.
~I recently joined the world of Facebook. An interesting and neat way to reconnect with old friends and to stay up to date with those you know, care about and love. I like it. It's fun!
~Mara Kate and I spent last week traveling---we went up to Virginia to see my family and back to Knoxville to see Kane's. We did all of this while Kane was attending and presenting at a scientific conference last week in Augusta, GA. After his conference he drove up to Knoxville to meet up with us for the weekend at his parents. We spent some time with his sister and brother in law as well as some other family members. Mara Kate traveled very well and enjoyed spending time with her Mimi, Grandpa, Tuie, Papa Dog, Cousin Grant, Uncle Jeph, Aunt Heidi, Aunt Bebe and Uncle Choonghwan. She also saw 2 of her great grandfathers too. She really made her rounds. :) I'll post some pics from this trip SOON!
~I made a big pot of White Chicken Chili for supper last night and it was YUMMY. I am sharing half of it with a family from church who just had a new baby boy on Sunday. I love this time of year when soup just really hits the spot.
~I am getting excited about Thanksgiving. I am also excited about Mara Kate's first birthday coming up and love the gift we got for her. I will post a pic later once we let her open it. :)
~I went yesterday for an eye exam and had to wear my sunglasses until time for bed because my eyes were dilated. The doctor even put a pair of contact lenses in my eyes so I could try them out---and that was pretty cool. Maybe someday I'll get some of those---amazing being able to see without having something on my face! I found out that I DO need a stronger perscription so I think we will go shopping for a good deal on some frames this weekend.
I guess that's about all....just some of what has been going on since my last update---just wanted to let everyone know that we HAVEN'T fallen of the face of the planet. :)
