Last weekend and this weekend have been good FAMILY time for us. We had a pretty productive time last weekend doing some Christmas shopping, errands, etc. This weekend has proven to be a pretty "lazy" one so far---sleeping in, wearing our pj's until an unknown hour of the morning and just veggin' (reading, watching movies and just hanging out as a family).
Last Saturday after a long day of being out and about we decided to walk up to eat at a nearby place---The Varsity---a famous midtown Atlanta drive-in. We just happened to arrive (after walking the few blocks from our apartment) right as a Georgia Tech football game was letting out. There was a mob of people headed staight for the restaurant, but thankfully we were in the door and had ordered our food before the biggest swarm of yellow jackets arrived. If we had arrived literally 5 minutes later we would have had to stand in line for 20 minutes to order our food, but we were seated with our food and already eating by the time the place was really hit. It actually worked out well because we were able to experience the Varsity on a game day, which is one of their busiest times. Mara Kate watched wide-eyed as all the black and gold clad people rushed by our table the entire time we ate.
Sunday afternoon we decided to get out and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL Fall weather and go to Piedmont Park. It was crowded, but a very nice outing for us. We walked a bit, but also sat on a blanket near one of the playgrounds and Mara Kate really enjoyed discovering (and trying to eat) some colorful Fall leaves as well as keep an eye on all the kids running around playing and swinging (I know she'll be right out there with them before we know it).

To kick off this weekend, Mara Kate and I met up with a dear friend and her little girl yesterday at a nearby park. It was just TOO nice to stay cooped up inside---and it was a much needed break from our normal day at home.

Last night Kane and I watched Click and it was cute. We are both in the middle of reading books, so we both spent a little time this morning just reading near one another while Mara Kate napped. I have a feeling we'll get some stuff done today, but not in a huge rush. It is nice to have a day every so often to just slow down a bit. I'm just thankful to have such a wonderful husband and a precious little girl to enjoy such sweet "down time" with.
We are also really looking forward to a visit from Uncle Patch in a couple days---It will be good to see Kane's little brother again!
I hope everyone who reads our blog is enjoying the Fall---it has been irresistable here lately.

Hmm, fall in Georgia. It's just freezing cold here!
Oooooh, the Varsity - YUM!
I've got to agree with the SmockLady (who happens to be my spouse): I heart the Varsity.
Gimme a F.O. and rangs!
Dresden has an outfit with pants just like MK's (the dark pink ones with flowers). Too bad we are too far away for a pic!
I love the pics! That is how Mimi's are....they love the pics. It really helps us keep up. Thanks for sharing them. It looked like it was a beautiful day when you went to the park!
